  1. Do I really need a burglar alarm?
Over the last 35 years we have found that homes and businesses that have a profecional alarm installed are less likely to have an attempted break in. For those customers where there is an attempted break in those attempts usually are not successful.
  2. How can I make my home or business more secure?
    • Have good quality deadbolt door locks.
    • When leaving close and lock all of your doors and windows.
    • Have good perimeter lighting for your business.
    • When on a trip have someone take care of your newspapers and mail or have their delivery stopped.
    • Have an interior light or two come on in the evening for a period of time.
    • Do not have large bushes that hide your windows.
  3. Can I have my fire alarm without having a burglar alarm monitored as well?
Yes you can have a monitored fire alarm system. We use professional smoke and heat detectors placed to give your family an early warning of a fire as well as notify the fire department.
  4. How much will a new alarm system cost?
We have alarm systems starting for $199.00. The total cost is determined by how many sensors it takes to protect your home or business as will as the type of monitoring services you choose.
Call us for a free security survey and estimate.
  5. How do I turn off my alarm if it activates?
Visit our web site for the on system operating instructions. The following applies to most Denalect Security Systems:
    • Two Position Key operated system. Turn the key to the off position.
    • Spring Key lock system with a Red armed lamp. Turn the key and release to turn off the system.

    • Call our 24 hour service department at 1-800-273-2680 or 925 935-2680.
  6. My keypad is beeping. How do I silence it?
Visit our web site for the on system operating instructions.
    Check your owner manual.
Call our 24 hour service department at 1-800-273-2680 or 925 935-2680.
  7. If the Central Station calls what information do I need to give them?
They may ask you a variety of questions to determine to their satisfaction that you are ok and who you say you are.
  8. If I call what information do I need?
We will need your name and or address plus some personal information to identify you.
  9. What do I need to do if I go out of town?
Call and tell our Central Station at 925-935-2680.
Stop your newspaper and mail or have someone pick it up.
  10. Who should be listed on the Emergency Callout List, and how many names should I have?
We prefer 3 names who have access to your home or business. If you do not have three then give us what you have. Those listed should have a key and alarm code to your property.
  11. What information do my employees need to know if they trigger the alarm?
If they have a key to the building they need to have an alarm key or code.
We will expect them to be able to turn off the alarm as a means of proper identification.
  12. How long does it take the Police to arrive at my home/business?
No one ever knows. The Officer could be close by or be some distance away.
I believe that customers who are responsible and have few or no false alarms will experience a faster Police response than those with frequent false alarms.
  13. My fire alarm activated while I was cooking (or burning wood in my fireplace). What should I do?
First you should protect yourself and your family. If you determine there is no risk then you should reset the fire alarm following the alarm reset procedure. Then call Denalect Central Station to cancel or confirm the fire department response.
  14. Can I alarm a few rooms in my home while leaving other areas unarmed?
Many systems allow you to bypass zones that represent groups of doors/windows while providing protection on the rest of the home.
  15. What if I let someone into my home or business and they pull a gun on me?
Follow their instructions to preserve you and your employees or family’s lives.
When possible call 911 or if you can not due to safety press your alarm panic button.
Your alarm may have other panic features that you should follow as directed by the installation technician.
